Listen to the Lyrics #10

No Matter What - Kerrie Roberts

I’m running back to Your promises, one more time
Lord that’s all I can hold on to
I gotta say this has taken me by surprise, but nothing surprises You
Before a heartache can ever touch my life
It has to go through Your hands
And even though I keep asking why, I keep asking why
No matter what, I’m gonna love You
No matter what I’m gonna need You
I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain
But if not, if not, I’ll trust You no matter what, no matter what
When I’m stuck in this nothingness by myself
I’m just sitting in silence
There’s no way I can make it without Your help, I won’t even try it
I know You have Your reasons for everything so I will keep believing
Whatever I might be feeling, God You are my hope
And You will be my strength
Anything I don’t have You can give it to me, but it’s OK if You don’t
I’m not here for those things
The touch of Your love is enough on its own
No matter what I still love You and I’m gonna need You
No matter what I’m gonna love You, no matter what I’m gonna need You
I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain
But if not, if not, I’ll trust You
I know You can find a way to keep me from the pain
But if not, but if not, I’ll trust You
No matter what
No matter no matter what
No matter no matter what
No matter no matter what

I love the sound of this song...and the lyrics too of course. Have a listen on youtube.

Let's start the week by looking at a couple of those amazing promises God Himself has made us. Promises I hope will make you joyful and thankful this whole week. Promises to sustain you and bring you a real sense of joy and hope and peace.

Promise 1 (my personal favourite)"Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." (Hebrews 13:5b) That's God speaking, telling us that He is with us ALWAYS...no matter what we are facing...in good times and tough ones....whether we think it or feel it or not. The GOD of ALL CREATION....including His prized treasures - us!.... sees everything we see and more than that, walks with us through it.

Promise 2 (a close 2nd to my favourite) - "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10) A promise made by Jesus and no other 'great teacher' in any other religion. And that life is found through knowing Him personally, because He is 'the way, truth and life.' A life that is abundant and to the full, till it overflows. A life for NOW and one for the future...ETERNAL life with God in His new heaven and earth. One where there is no more tears, pain or suffering.

Promise 3 (which has to be true for me to have 1 & 2) - If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) God can't look on us and call us His children if we have sin in our lives, yet He is the one who made the way for us to be rid of that sin. We only have to confess, turn from our sin and believe Jesus. And we get forgiveness, salvation, a hope and a future, a clean heart and a life and eternity with God Himself. Not a bad trade!

Promise 4 (the one that gives me hope in times of trouble)And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) I may never see the truth of this one, but because God is faithful and can't ever lie, I KNOW this one is true.

Promise 5 (this one takes the worry from my life)And my God will supply all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19) Again, perhaps He'll do this in an unexpected way, but I KNOW He will do it...because I have seen Him do it throughout all the days of my life so far. Provision of material things yes...but so much more than that....family, friends, forgiveness, comfort, healing, opportunity, joy, peace, confidence, direction, strength, wisdom, emotional stability....and I could go on.

In fact there are many more exciting promises God has given, so how about I continue this post sometime soon? Meanwhile, like the lyrics say....there will be times in our lives when things happen and we don't understand how a loving God could allow them. But even though we may ask 'why?' and not receive an answer, we can know His promises are true and 'no matter what' choose to believe them and Him.
